Connecticut Getting Ready To Host The Cycling Festival

The Connecticut Cycling Festival was started in the year 2013 and this is going to be the second time that the festival is going to take place in Hartford, Connecticut. The 2014 Connecticut Cycling Festival will be held on the 20th and 21st of September and several events which are family-friendly are going to take place during the festival.
Last year’s cycling festival was a huge success because around two thousand people attended it. Many of them even participated in the racing events that took place last year.

Two New Faces Added In Astana Pro Cycling Team

Cycling team Astana Pro is all set to hit the roads as soon as the season starts for 2014. In a recent event they revealed the riders who will be representing the team in this season. Reigning Tour France champion Chris Froome has raised concerns over the newly declared route of Tour de France 2014. It’s the 9 cobbled sections spanning the 5th stage of the Tour that has evoked worries among the cyclists.

As per the sources, the Tour France 2014 route will be hosted at Yorkshire Dales & follow one single time-trial. In spite of lack of hurdles against the time, the Tour route seems to be suitable for Froome but the Team Sky leader is especially tensed about cycling on cobbles.

Bradley Wiggins who is better known to be a topper in both forms of professional cycling is again in news for a new decision. Till the end of next season he has announced to quit from road racing. He is doing so to improve his performance in track racing. This 4 time Olympic winner has made this decision because now he wants to win the fifth Olympic medal. He is excited to win one more gold medal before finishing his cycling career in track. In Tour de France 2012 he has been the winner but couldn’t repeat the same this year due to the injury.

Ben Carroll, a cyclist belonging to the Cardiff Ajax cycling club has met his tragic end in the Abergavenny Festival of Cycling Handicap race. Abergavenny Festival of Cycling Handicap is basically a forty-five mile race in which anyone with a valid cycling license can participate.
